Master Bedroom Makeover: Dresser and Chest of Drawers

I’ve made a little more progress on our master bedroom furniture. We finished the dresser last week and the chest of drawers on Sunday. Each piece has gotten a little easier and has gone a little quicker, but I think that will come to a screeching halt when I do the last piece of furniture…my dad’s rocking chair. Rocking chair 1

I want to paint the wood and reupholster it, but I can’t decide what color I want to paint it. I’m thinking I’ll pick out the material first and then figure out what color of paint to use.

But let me show you what we have finished!

We left off the huge mirror that was previously on the dresser. I want to use the space above it for pictures/decor.

I forgot to take a before picture of the dresser and almost forgot to take one of the chest of drawers! Mr. had already taken the drawers out and removed the hardware when I thought of it.

I painted these the same as the bed frame and bedside tables, and we are so glad to finally be rid of that ugly, orangish stain color that was on everything! Painting the furniture makes our master bedroom seem so much bigger. And you know how they say that a mirror will make a room feel larger? Not so with that humongous mirror that was on the dresser. I love it without the mirror and I now have more wall space for pictures and/or decor! 🙂

Y’all have a great day!
